Here's (seriously, really, really) hoping!. I know the team at Proton is certainly capable too! Those sorts of solutions seem very doable. ProtonMail is an easy-to-use webmail service that protects your message archive with zero-access encryption and end-to-end encryption for message transmission. Redirect all of the upload/download/link requests to localhost, essentially just a reverse proxy or perhaps more accurately, a really basic SSH tunnel can do this & would enable use of protocols like RSYNC or even BorgBackup. Just in general, my biggest complaint here is that I don't really understand, from a technical perspective, how much different or how difficult it could really be to offer a setup much akin to the Proton Mail Bridge app: Literally because I can't see the point in atrocious connectivity that is required or only possible via browser, alongside failed uploads (though, to Protons credit, the upload failures have definitely improved in that they are much, MUCH less frequent now. That being said, let me also add: I am VERY eager to find secure, privacy-conscious storage, and Proton Drive would sound like the exact best solution possible here. I was fortunate enough to be rewarded with a nice 3Tb of storage, for being a Visionary Subscriber at the time of the recent rebranding.
